Forests need to be renewed and managed in ways that ensure their long-term sustainability and productivity, as well as rapid carbon sequestration and high quality timber.

Description of the action

When reforesting, use the tree species best suited to the soil (habitat type).

Why?

The most appropriate tree species for the site type will ensure the productivity of the forest and the quality of the timber, which will be able to produce long-life, carbon-storing durable products in the future.
