Biological techniques and tools should be preferred to prevent forest damage and to control its spread. The use of non-biological plant protection products on forest land is only allowed in justified cases.
Description of the action
To protect young forests from moose, deer, and roe deer, use repellents such as Trico and Cervacol. Agree with hunters not to establish salt licks or feeding fields near pine, spruce, and aspen forest renewals and young stands.
Why?
Using repellents reduces ungulate damage in young forests. To manage ungulate damage effectively, their population should be kept at an optimal level.
