Clear-cutting

Preserving and creating habitats for wetland species ensures greater biodiversity.

Description of the action

If cavity-using species (e.g., flying squirrels, bats, owls) inhabit a logging site, mark and retain those trees as retention trees, preferably in groups.

Why?

Leave cavity trees used by animals as retention trees to preserve habitats. If possible, leave a group of retention trees around cavity trees to provide better shelter for wildlife.
