Leave trees and shrubs to grow in and around the thinned grassland

Thinning

In order to maintain biodiversity, forest microstructures (e.g. large boulders, rock gardens, bogs, springs) are maintained during forest management.

Description of the action

Leave shrubs to grow in and around the mudflat. Leave any coarse woody debris that has fallen into the slough.

Why?

The mudflat is a place with a special microclimate and shrubs could be left to grow in and around it, and the flat wood that is there could be left intact to ensure that the microclimate is maintained.
