Preserving and creating habitats for wetland species ensures greater biodiversity.
Description of the action
Install nesting boxes in forests adjacent to clear-cut areas. Clean nesting boxes of old nesting material (best done in autumn or late summer after the breeding season ends). In spring, check if nesting boxes are empty, as small mammals may store food or hibernate in them. Avoid excessive and overly close placement of nesting boxes to ensure birds have enough food for their young. The spacing between nesting boxes depends on bird species but should be at least 50-60 meters.
