In the thinning strip, mark and retain hollow trees

Thinning

Preserving and creating habitats for wetland species ensures greater biodiversity.

Description of the action

If cavity-dwelling species (e.g. bats, bats, cockatoos) live in the woodland, mark these trees and leave them as a remnant tree and, if possible, a group of remnant trees around them.

Why?

Retaining trees with cavities that are used by livestock as preservation wood preserves habitats for animals. Where possible, it is worth leaving a group of silvicultural trees around the cavity trees to provide better shelter for animals.
