Afforestation aims to change land use from non-forest to forest land in a way that ensures the long-term sustainability and productivity of new forests, as well as rapid carbon sequestration and high quality timber.

Description of the action

Do not use genetically modified forest plants and forest tree seeds.

Why?

Processes occur very slowly in forests and, under the precautionary principle, GMOs should not be used there.
