Only organic fertilisers, natural mineral fertilisers, natural soil conditioners, Bio-stimulants and Bio-regulators can be used on forest land. Natural mineral fertilisers are e.g. wood, peat, straw, hay and root ash, soil conditioners are lime, dolomite powder, shale ash. The use of chemically synthesised mineral fertilisers (e.g. phosphorus fertilisers) is not allowed under the Forest Act.

Description of the action

Bio-stimulators and Bio-regulators can be used when planting forest plants in poor soils.

Why?

Bio-stimulants and bio-regulators used for forest plants are not synthetic mineral fertilisers. In appearance, they are tiny grains that are sensible to put in the planting hole of a forest plant at planting time. They develop the growth of fine roots in forest plants and improve the uptake of nutrients from the soil.
