Thinning

In order to maintain biodiversity, forest microstructures (e.g. large boulders, stone walls, bogs, springs) are maintained during forest management.

Description of the action

Leave shrubs growing in sinkholes and their surroundings. Leave large fallen trees and fallen wood in sinkholes.

Why?

Sinkholes have unique microclimatic conditions, so shrubs should be left growing inside and around them, and fallen wood should be preserved to maintain the microclimate.
