Clear-cutting

In order to maintain biodiversity, forest microstructures (e.g. large boulders, stone walls, bogs, springs) are maintained during forest management.

Description of the action

Leave shrubs growing in sinkholes and their surroundings, and if possible, leave retention trees growing in sinkholes and/or their surroundings. Leave large fallen trees and fallen wood in sinkholes.

Why?

Sinkholes have unique microclimatic conditions, so shrubs and, if possible, retention trees should be left growing inside and around them. Fallen wood should also be preserved to maintain the microclimate.
