Bio stimulants and bio regulators can be used in forest planting

Only organic fertilisers, natural mineral fertilisers, natural soil conditioners, Bio-stimulants and Bio-regulators can be used on forest land. Natural mineral fertilisers are e.g. wood, peat, straw, hay and root ash, soil conditioners are lime, dolomite powder, shale ash. The use of chemically synthesised mineral fertilisers (e.g. phosphorus fertilisers) is not allowed under the Forest Act.

Description of the action

When planting forest trees on poor soils, bio-stimulants and bio-regulators may be used.

Why?

Bio stimulants and regulators used for forest plants are not synthetic mineral fertilizers. They appear as small granules, which should be placed in the planting hole during forest planting. They enhance fine root growth and improve nutrient uptake from the soil.
