Avoid plowing heritage meadows.

Why?

In limestone-rich alvar meadows, avoid damaging established turf, as this can make the soil unsuitable for many soil-dwelling species. Soil aeration caused by plowing accelerates the decomposition of organic matter and leads to a reduction in humus content in the soil.
