Grassland management

To preserve biodiversity and ensure ecological connectivity, structural habitat elements are retained in grasslands (e.g., old trees, ancient trees, standing deadwood, stumps, fallen wood, decaying wood, hollow trees, trees with burn marks, shrub species, rare tree species, structures, and other cultural heritage elements), considering their potential impact on grassland health, ecosystem condition, and human safety.

Description of the action

Preserve flowers and grasses in grasslands. Mow grasslands in late summer or autumn after seeds have fallen to encourage plant regrowth.

Why?

Flowers and grasses provide food and shelter for birds and insects.
